Doris Ferres

A native of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Doris A. Ferres has lived in Vero Beach since December 1990. Before moving to the United States, she had a private dental practice, and taught Clinical Dentistry in her Alma Mater. From 1994 to 2004, She was a full-time professor at Indian River State College, where she taught Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting. In 2000, She graduated from the University of Florida School of Dentistry, receiving her American Accreditation.
She lives with her husband, Retired Air Force Colonel Carlos Halcomb, who serves currently as the Executive Director for the Veterans Council of Indian River County, and as the Vice Chairman of the Vero Beach Museum of Aviation. Together they enjoy activities such as ballroom dancing, Golfing, cooking, flying their Beechcraft V-tail Bonanza and the outdoors, as well as keeping in shape.
