Clear the Shelters

The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County waives
adoption fees when it teams up with NBCUniversal Local to host a Clear the Shelters special
adoption event on Saturday, August 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We have so many wonderful dogs and cats that deserve homes, and Clear the Shelters is the
perfect way for families to discover them,” says Nichola Redmond, HSVB Chief Executive
Officer. “With adoption fees waived, we hope everyone who visits the shelter finds their new
fur baby to bring home.”
If unable to make it to the Clear the Shelters event, the shelter is also waiving adoption fees of
available adult cats and dogs, the week of August 23-30. HSVB is located at 6230 77 th Street,
Vero Beach.
Since its inception in 2015, Clear the Shelters has found homes for more than 1 million pets.
New this year is the designation of Hill’s Pet Nutrition as a presenting sponsor. The company
continues its role to support activities nationwide and provide adoption kits at select
participating shelters. The kits will include starter bags of Hill's Science Diet foods, coupons and
other supplies for shelter pets and their new owners.
